  1. In my neighborhood, trash collection takes place on a Tuesday. The night before is a good time to canvas the neighborhood for castaways. It’s great sport. I use Tuesday on my blog to post my treasures. The phrase “getting it cheap is part of the esthetic’ was coined by my photographer friend D Gordon

    Next Tuesday: the commodity exchange

  2. I’ll bet your heart was racing, wondering if it was still there. I never find anything this good. I did find three very nice white plastic trellises in the Cloverdale Historic District in Montgomery this weekend. But don’t believe it when people talk about white trash, there isn’t much of it, not here in the South anyway.

  3. I feel like I have taken a tour of your interesting neighborhood. More please…..

  4. That was exciting! Left me wanting more.

  5. Maybe it is just my bicycle obsession, but I saw the bicycle hanger unit as the key piece of this curbside find! Did you leave that behind and just take the wooden cabinet?

  6. One time I saw a beautiful big blue bucket on the curb outside one of the mansions. I stopped and took it. Later it occurred to me this was probably the bucket they used to for their recyclables. Oh well.

  7. I have a huge collection of empty garbage cans I find along the curb each Thursday morning.

  8. …….
PJ: I hate to admit it but your absolutely right. I go into full and complete predatory mode. Pupils dilate, tail twitches and the heart races.

QV: Did you see the earlier post? I have plans on dragging you down those stairs one day.

Keith: We’re all about high flying adventure over here in the “adjacents”

Ben: I wouldn’t have known it if it weren’t for the gardeners who helped me load it. No need for a bike rack because I drive a truck.

AH: Oh little grasshopper, tsk tsk.

D: Must be because both you and the hapless hiker are from Illinois

  9. I came in to ck out your trash, PA. Any good trash you collect? Or, at least notice any good flirts lately?

  10. Cannot see the video – but I bet it’s great – will view from home.
But, but — is that a contrabass stand!!! What a delight. That cabinet is so nice too.
These folks sure do a lot of curbside recycling - note Google street view -- 1028 Lantana Dr. – LOL.

  11. Cafe Pasadena: So your not impressed with my latest haul? If I come across some lacy undergarments, I’ll save them for you.

Tash: Most of my best finds happen in the Garvanzas but in this case…a bike rack.

  12. I got dizzy with anticipation as you approached your loot. Well done.

  13. ……….
    Sorry

Tuesday seems to have become Friday.

    Margaret: your late

  14. What a find.
Enjoyed the ride with you and your closing sentence in the video, “There it is ….”

  15. Dina: Welcome to the Garvanza, where the best curbside treasures are to be found
