Welcome Trish: In real estate speak they would also add “great curb appeal” (translation: you have a curb) “adorable fixer-upper bring hammer and nails” (translation: tear down) San Marino “adjacent” (translation: share the same valley) and “cozy” (bigger then a bread box but not by much)

amazing is an understatement.

but it IS affordable California housing! I can hear the ad now—”bad credit? no problem! no job? no problem! have we got the house for you!”

what I first noticed was what appears to be a 100ft yellow extension cord hanging out near the service box. What’d they plug into? Something had to have run the 2 fridges, microwave etc.

was afraid you’d found a freshly dead cat in the mix…now I understand the cat is just ticked at your use of the cat sleeping arena (read that as anywhere a cat could possibly snooze).

QV: Brave or stupid. Honestly, I was a little worried I’d run into something weird. As to your trash association, you sound a bit like Ramona reminiscing on my romantic choices

AH: Laurie focused in on one of those stories

Beck: She’s actually miserable because I turned her sleep zone into my staging area. (notice her but jammed into the paddy hat?) A sign of defiance.

PJ: I think you should use the pvc piping like tinker toys and build a skeleton/sculpture house next to the house you live in; complete with cast away furnishings. You think the nurses thought you were odd? try this

Laurie: I like your use of film analogies (still trying to find the Plato’s Retreat…a different title?) With the pink bra, thats the analogy I was thinking of.

Tash: We’re pros here at “Wee Video Productions” Actually that entire ranch is an opportunity to break an ankle. The place is full of trenches for pvc piping now covered in avocado leaves. One source tells me they were shut down for building violations (no surprise there) then again, the ranger who nearly arrested me says differently. Mr V’s still trying to figure it out.

I’m currently on the Blueprint of Happiness which is the thinnest in my newly acquired library. That’s Tova. She’ll be 14 on the 27th.

The next post will have to wait until I compose it. Off to walk with Mary for another off the beaten path adventure.

you are so good at walking around with a camera WITHOUT bumping into stuff – even in a trashed cabin…and weren’t you afraid someone was going to jump out of a dark corner — been watching too many CSI/Criminal Minds episodes.
Which kitty is this? (sorry if I’m confused) How’s the Tai budda book going? ;0
I liked the 1st shot of the cabin. It must of been a real nice home once. :(

It looks like my house from the renovation so I have to think they’re refurbishing the place.

I would be afraid to do that, or is it in an isolated spot and you didn’t have a racing heart? Nice haul, it all looks to be in great shape.

I guess I should post the free green pvc pipe I got when we got a crazy deal on a new chipper/vacuumer. Our pecan leaves don’t stand a chance now.

Trashed and Feral Cabin

I believe this cabin must have been the family residence on what was once an avocado and citrus grove. It’s amazing how small homes were at one time. Laura Ingall’s “Little House ~~on the Prairie~~ in the Big Woods” is palatial compared to the family cabins preserved in our hills. Do check out the fireplace. The ceilings couldn’t have been higher then seven feet, maybe less.
