As I prepare to leave on a short excursion into one of our state parks, I am confronted with discouraging news courtesy of our truly misguided Rubbernor Arnold. Next I’m scolded by Vanda for letting loose green balloons for Iran environmentally insensitive green petroleum products into our atmosphere. I’m riddled with guilt. I’m also cursed with a limited attention span for hot button topics. Call me political/lite; sadly it’s true. Now that you know who your dealing with it won’t surprise you that I’m switching allegiances. Move over Tehran, this ones closer to home and could use our attention

Please urge the “Big 5″ to seek a creative solution that will provide adequate revenue to keep our state parks open and accessible to all Californians.

  1. Vanda really didn’t scold me. I made the whole thing up.

  2. I signed. I’m also buying a Wilderness Pass, in hopes that if many people do the same, it might ease pressure on our state parks.

And I worry about the park rangers who will lose their jobs. They already make next to nothing (I know, because I considered becoming one). Without the rangers, god knows what kind of vandalism will occur out there.

  3. I signed!

  4. Where do you buy wilderness pass? I should get me one.

  5. Signed and forwarded to friends.

Does the Wilderness Pass allow access to state park land even if the parks get closed?

  6. The first thing I thought of is what AH mentioned, the parks will be taken over and used for growing (more) pot which creates all kinds of problems and will be harboring all kinds of people and things that don’t need to be there. I’m thinking Ahnold, Maria, and the kids don’t camp. I hope it doesn’t happen.

  7. Here in IL, we faced a similar situation when our psycopathic Governor closed the State Parks for bugetary concerns. We impeached the idiot and sentenced his foul-mouthed wife to the most assinine reality TV show we could find: Get me out of here, I’m a 5th rate celebrity. The new Gov. reopened all our parks. Are you listening Arnold?

  8. AH: If I had possessed any capacity towards math I’d have been a ranger. Forestry was my minor at PCC.

    Rebecca: Of course

Vanda: You can pick them up at Sports Chalet

    Mid-Town-G: Many differing agencies.
State Beach, State Recreation Area, State Historic Monument, State Park, State Reserve

Yosemite and the like are National Park land surrounded by National Forest Land. The San Gabriels are National Forest Land. Anza Borego, Red Rock Canyon, Topanga, Chino Hills, Poppy Preserves and Mount San Jacinto are state parks. Another category is State Reserve (Torrey Pines)

PJ: I wonder how they would go about implicating these closures. Our services are so thread bare as it stands. Thanks for visiting

D: Really? Who knows if it’s not a ploy to get all the tax hikes facing Californians through. The state is in deep do do. But then again I’m political/lite
