Queen Victoria: I thought that must be you. Fun hearing from you, but that was your sister telling all. Ha, as your mom would write (love it when she and her sisters write that). What woman wouldn't want to be nude inside a reversed full length fur! You sound so professional when you put your zoological hat on. I'm keeping an eye on the squirrels here.

Queen Victoria spent time at Camp Leakey with the orangutans in Borneo Indonesia. Same place that actor Julia Roberts had a run in with a male ape. The story As Queen Victoria would have you hear it... Only girl monkeys (apes) hate her because of her dazzling chemically enhanced coiff. They made their feelings known by throwing poop at her. Boy monkeys (apes) on the other hand, love her, want to prove to her that they will make good providers and ultimately want to mount her (and did TRY repeatedly). Queen Victoria and I are phermonally alike, so say our cats, thus I figure the same thing would happen to me.
Alex Trebek: The story, as Queen Victoria would have you hear it, was that the audience of boy scouts were so charmed by her, that during commercial breaks, they would shout her name. This competition for the spotlight was not to Mr Trebek's liking. (the real story) After winning the "coat of many deaths" she knocked over Trebek who stood between her and the unfortunate TV model who was wearing "her" (but not for long)coat

My two cents: The California Condor who on the brink of extinction back in the 1970's (the count was around 40) is back because of the combined efforts between the Los Angeles Zoo and the San Diego Zoo (and others). They still face hazards in California but are thriving in Southern Utah. If you look down at the bottom of this link I'm providing, you will find many logos of participating animal and nature oriented organizations that are involved. Thats how it is now, interconnected.
Oh, and those heritage tomatoes....thank a seed bank

Petrea: You would be the last person I'd expect to insult my sister. Tonight..hope too!

Marcial: (Marcial got his horse the day after I got mine: that was my favorite summer) 30 years, ye gads? Queen Victoria isn't a zoologist but she is a big shot with a fancy title.

D.: In truth, there just isn't a lot of uses for a full length fur in San Diego. Once a year (winter), she brings it home for a visit. Next, she turns it inside out, gets naked and wraps herself in it. She spends the day in this manner watching her collection of musicals. When she's done, she returns the coat to storage.

John E: Hasn't killed me yet and it looks like the queen has answered your question.

AH: I've enjoyed the variations on the screwdriver analogy. The San Diego Zoo is the gold standard when it comes to zoos..not all zoos are created equal. Tram driver? we got to talk. They keep the baby condors off a trail I frequent.

CO: yes and no

Anne Erdman: Her zoo link is hot... dam wordpress for not making the hot links obvious! Same thing with Mademoiselle's QUEEN VICTORIA and GRROWL which I've made hot
San Diegians love their zoo and their wild animal park

MG: I suspect she'll be back to read your comment. Alex be damned!

Hey, you should have done a caption contest! That photo is ripe for it.

Growing up in San Diego I spent a lot of time at the zoo, which is among the greatest in the world.

Queen Vicky is absolutely right about the S.D. Zoo and its conservation programs. Without them, many animal species in the wild would not have survived.

Zoos - at least these wild animals have a place they can call home. Domesticated animals often do not.
I guess people find it easier to provide a home for tigers, panthers, for example.
